“I was in awe of the bounty you produced this year. Thank you so much for such a lovely CSA experience. Several of my neighbors are also considering the CSA for next year after being gifted several weeks of our family box while we were out of town. We will absolutely subscribe next year, too.”
—Laura E, Montara
“We just picked up our first box, and happened to meet the farmer himself at the East West Bookstore. I think you and he both would have been amused to see us when we got home. My two little boys promptly starting eating everything straight from the box. Carrots, peas, and lettuce down the hatch, dirt and all. They were delighted with it all. Not their usual reaction to vegetables! They did eventually decide that chard, beets, and squash probably ought to be cooked first, which is good because I am looking forward to using those for dinner! Thanks again for sharing your magnificent produce with us.”
—Holly B., Santa Clara
“During the CSA season, my week of meals came right out of this box. I rarely had to buy any other vegetables. I'm finding CSA produce more delicious and vital than even the best store-bought produce. You can’t do any better than field to table in a few hours.”
—Asha P, Mountain View

Freshly harvested, just 1-2 days before
We don't mean to brag, but we've heard from customers that our produce is absolutely the freshest they've ever tasted. We harvest 1 to 2 days before you receive your box. It's the freshest food possible. Many CSAs buy produce from other farms and redistribute it. This can add days or even weeks to the harvest-to-home freshness.
Picked at optimal ripeness and nutritional value
We wait till the produce is at its peak of ripeness before picking, even if it would be more convenient to pick earlier. So if it's in your box, it's absolutely the best produce in the field at that time of year. This is high-nutrition food, filled with life-giving energy and vitality.
What you’ll find in your CSA box
When you join our CSA, you join in the seasonal life of a farm. Your weekly box contains 8-12 different vegetables, and sometimes fruit when in season.
A seasonal snapshot of what you'll enjoy:
Spring: Lettuce, Kale, Cabbage, Bok Choy, Broccoli, and Beets
Summer: Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Summer Squash, Zucchini, and Cauliflower (PLUS any or all of the spring veggies)
Fall: Green and Red Chard, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Pumpkins, and Winter Squash - such as Butternut, Acorn, and Delicata (PLUS any or all of the spring veggies)
In addition, you will sometimes find surprises and wilder items like Wild Amaranth or Indian Spinach. See photos of last year's box.
Restorative, low-till agriculture
The soil on our farm is sandy loam, a gift we treasure. It's biologically alive with healthy microbes that remain vibrant because of our low-till, permanent-bed farming methods. Most farms, even organic ones, use heavy tractor tillage methods which reduce soil microbial life. You can feel the life force in our soil, and if you come to visit, you can almost see it in the fields bursting with life.
Farmed by loving hands and hearts
We work with and plant every seed and seedling by hand. Plants and seeds are chosen for flavor and vitality. Plants respond to the love we feel for them. You can taste it in the food.
We grow our own produce
We are your local organic farmers. We work and grow produce on this beautiful property in Half Moon Bay. It offers the perfect environment for organic farming, with cool moist mornings and sunny afternoons. We also include heirloom tomatoes from our Ananda Community.
You know where your food comes from when you order from our farm. CSAs that collect produce from different farms will have varying soil quality and harvesting schedules that can make a significant difference in the freshness and nutritional value of your produce.
Conscious farming practices
Our managers and many of our volunteers are long-time meditators. There is a special joy in farming consciously, and the plants respond to the kindness and sensitivity of the farmers who work with them.
“The secret of improved plant breeding,
apart from scientific knowledge, is love.”
